Police Extend Tinted Glass Permit Deadline to August 12

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has extended the enforcement deadline for tinted glass permits to August 12, 2025, citing public feedback and an ongoing review of its digital application system.

Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced the extension in a statement on Saturday, noting that the decision was approved by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

“The Force wishes to affirm that it has not ignored the voices of Nigerians,” the statement read. “These voices have been instrumental in guiding ongoing reviews to ensure the system remains user-friendly, secure, and accessible.”

Adejobi said the extra time will be used to improve the permit application process, with reforms aimed at simplifying both physical and online procedures, enhancing verification systems, and curbing extortion.

The police also reminded the public that the only official platform for applying and renewing permits is possap.gov.ng, urging applicants to report any unauthorized charges.

Complaints can be directed to the Police hotline at 09169967000.

The extension is part of broader efforts to boost transparency and restore public trust in police operations.
