The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has announced plans to deploy its Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard (EICS) across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) nationwide.
According to a statement released by the spokesperson for the commission, Demola Bakare on Friday, this was disclosed by the ICPC Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner (RACC) for Adamawa State, Mr. Okoro J. Ulu, during a recent courtesy visit to the management of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Hong.
Ulu explained that the EICS is an annual corruption-prevention tool used by the Commission to assess MDAs on their adherence to ethics and integrity standards. It aims to identify loopholes that encourage corruption and promote a culture of ethical conduct in public institutions.
“The Commission came for the purpose of partnering with you to reduce incidences of corruption in the facility and to encourage you to constitute an ACTU in the hospital,” Ulu stated.
He sought the cooperation of the medical centre’s management and urged them to support the initiative.
In response, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Yakub Wilbeforce Nyandati, commended the Commission’s efforts and pledged the hospital’s readiness to constitute an ACTU and fully participate in the EICS and system study exercise.
