The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has applauded the recent election of Professor Amaka Offiah as Vice-President of Clinical Radiology at the prestigious Royal College of Radiologists in the United Kingdom, describing it as a testament to the excellence and international relevance of Nigerian professionals in the diaspora.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, commended Offiah’s achievement, highlighting its significance for Nigeria’s global health presence.
“This is a proud and inspiring moment for Nigeria,” said Pate. “Professor Offiah’s election reflects the resilience, excellence, and international relevance of Nigerian talent, especially in the health sector.”
Offiah, a leading figure in radiology, is expected to use her new position to foster stronger academic and clinical collaborations between the UK and Nigeria. The health ministry expressed optimism that her leadership would support the country’s ongoing health sector reforms through innovation and knowledge exchange.
