The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPC) and Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd (SNEPCo) have donated vehicles to bolster security and healthcare services in Lagos State.
The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) received two vehicles, while a specialized intensive care unit ambulance was donated to the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Metta.
Speaking at the handover, SNEPCo’s Country Security Manager, Isaac Akinjogunla, emphasized the importance of maintaining the vehicles, stating that the donation underscores their commitment to supporting the Lagos State Government’s security initiatives.
Highlighting the significance of the donation, Chief Upstream Investment Officer of NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services (NUIMS), Engr Oluwaseyi Omotowa, noted, “By enhancing the operational capacity of security agencies, these vehicles will contribute to a safer environment for all residents.”
The Executive Secretary of LSSTF, Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, expressed gratitude, saying, “Together, we can work towards a safer and more secure environment where our businesses continue to thrive, and our loved ones are safe.”
This initiative follows a previous donation of 16 vehicles by NNPC-SNEPCo in 2020.
In addition to security, NNPC-SNEPCo is enhancing healthcare services through the donation of a specialized ambulance to the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Metta.
The Safety and Environment Manager, David Aghaiyo, remarked, “The ambulance supports the broader healthcare infrastructure within the community by facilitating quick transportation and medical care.”
Mrs. Bunmi Lawson, speaking on behalf of NUIMS, reiterated their commitment to healthcare, stating, “We recognise the critical role that healthcare plays in the lives of Nigerians and are dedicated to supporting initiatives that improve access to quality healthcare services.”
Dr. Adedamola Dada, the hospital’s Medical Director, described the donation as an “answered prayer,” acknowledging its impact on patient care.
Through partnerships with Total Energies, Exxon, and Nigerian Agip Exploration, NNPC-SNEPCo continues to invest in education, health, and empowerment programs, reinforcing its commitment to social development.
