IBB June 12 Confession: Transparency, Accountability in Electoral Processes Underscored – Lawal

In a telephone conversation with our correspondent, Mr. Hamzat Lawal, an anti-corruption activist and founder of Follow The Money, as well as the Chief Executive of Connected Development (CODE), said, “I would say that it’s a significant development that after nearly 32 years, General Babangida has publicly admitted that Chief Moshood Abiola won the June 12, 1993, presidential election. This is a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s political history, and it highlights the need for transparency and accountability in our electoral processes.

“However, I honestly cannot comment further until I have read the book. Only then will I be able to offer a meaningful reactions or contribution to the matter.”
