Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has commissioned the Magnet Academy Al-huda, a specialized educational institution designed for orphans and vulnerable children, established by the Islamic Ummah Relief organization.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony today, Governor Radda emphasized the spiritual and social importance of supporting orphans, stating that such actions attract Divine mercy and blessings.
He encouraged Muslim Ummah to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice that support happiness of orphans.
The Governor expressed particular satisfaction with the school’s infrastructure and facilities, noting that they meet high standards comparable to leading private institutions across Nigeria.
The Governor extended his gratitude to Zaharaddeen Ibrahim, Chairman of Islamic Ummah Relief USA, for choosing Katsina State as the location for this vital educational initiative.
He further pledged both personal and official support to ensure the school’s continued success and development.
Speaking at the event, the State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hajia Zainab Musa Musawa, commended the project as a pride to the Muslim community and called on others to emulate this charitable initiative for the less privileged.
On his part, the Sarkin Hausawa of Ghana, Alhaji Kabiru Kadiri English, who served as the guest speaker, revealed that the project received funding through international donations from the USA, UK, Australia, Uganda, Nigeria, and Niger Republic.
In his address, Chairman of Islamic Ummah Relief USA, Zaharaddeen Ibrahim, outlined the school’s development plans, which include a gradual expansion from nursery and primary sections to secondary education.
Ibrahim also announced that construction of secondary school facilities has already commenced on the designated expansion area. Additionally, he revealed plans to sponsor high-performing students for international studies.
The newly commissioned school is a milestone in advancing educational opportunities for underprivileged children in the State.
