The police have arrested two suspected political thugs identified as Edwin Obanor, 43, and Audu Tajudeen, 41, both members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from Ugbogbo quarters, Igara Akoko, Edo State. The suspects were found in possession of three cut-to-size locally made pistols.
This was disclosed by the Delta State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, on its official X handle.
The arrests were part of an ongoing police operation in Edo State, led by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Frank Mba, aimed at cracking down on criminal activities in the region.
“The police urge residents to remain vigilant and law-abiding as security efforts continue to be intensified across the state,” SP Edafe said.
