The Nigeria Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) urges the general public on preventive measures against cholera outbreak that has claimed 30 lives and resulted in 1,141 suspected cases across Nigeria by avoiding contaminated water.
This was confirmed by the NCDC on Tuesday, Cholera which is a water-borne disease that can spread through contaminated food or water and it causes acute diarrhoea known as watery stool, vomiting and if left untreated, it can lead to death within hours.
The NCDC listed preventative measures which includes; the use of water from reliable sources, boiled water is highly recommended, store water properly in covered containers and always ensure that bottled water and pure water is properly sealed before you drink it.
