S’Court Justices, Judges, Judicial Officers to Receive Jumbo Salary

Nigeria’s judicial officers are poised for a significant salary boost, with a proposed 300% increase annually.

Statisense, the official data provider, disclosed this information to Africa Health Report (AHR) on it’s official X on Thursday. According to the report, the updated salary system in the judiciary will lead to substantial increases for various positions.

Chief Justice of Nigeria ₦64.62 million annually.

Supreme Court Justice ₦60.47 million annually.

President of the Court of Appeal ₦62.45 million annually.

Judges of the Court of Appeal ₦52.71 million annually.

Judges of the Federal High Court ₦44.06 million annually.

The move has sparked mixed reactions. @_Gonii criticized the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for calling off the strike, suggesting they should have remained steadfast until their demands were met.

@C Onyedinma expressed disbelief, stating, “This is crazy! Considering the fact that everyday workers are fighting for an increase in their meager N360k/pa minimum wage. Optics and substance matter.”
