AWKA, Nigeria — Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has approved fresh recruitment of healthcare workers to strengthen primary health services across communities.
The move follows earlier mass recruitment drives under Soludo’s administration, which engaged more than 8,000 teachers and 1,000 health workers as part of reforms in critical sectors.
The Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ASPHCDA) confirmed that the recruitment will be community-based to enhance grassroots service delivery.
Available positions include Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEWs) and Assistant Community-Based Health Workers.
According to the circular signed by ASPHCDA Executive Secretary, Pharm Chisom Uchem, applicants must hold qualifications such as FSLC, WAEC, JCHEW certificates, valid professional licences, and NIN. Computer literacy will be considered an added advantage.
Applications must be submitted online on or before September 8, 2025, with interviews scheduled for September 9 at the Jerome Udorji Secretariat, Aroma, Awka.
“The initiative is part of ongoing reforms to expand access to quality healthcare across all communities in Anambra,” the notice added.
Soludo’s administration says the recruitment reflects its determination to close human resource gaps in the health sector, improve primary care services, and ensure every community has access to qualified frontline workers.
