ABUJA, Nigeria – The National Examinations Council (NECO) has dismissed an online report alleging that it is recruiting new staff, describing the claim as false and fraudulent.
In a statement signed by Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, on Wednesday, the Council urged the public to disregard the publication, calling it the handiwork of fraudsters seeking to exploit unsuspecting Nigerians.
“The Council enjoins members of the public to disregard the publication as it has no plan to recruit new staff,” the statement read.
NECO stressed that any legitimate recruitment would be conducted in line with due process and existing laws, with Federal Government approval.
“NECO under the leadership of the Registrar/Chief Executive, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, will always adhere to due process when the Federal Government approves staff recruitment,” the statement added.
