ABUJA, Nigeria – The Society for Family Health (SFH), in partnership with the Federal Ministries of Health and Youth Development, will host a two-day National Policy Dialogue on adolescent and youth reproductive health in Abuja from 25–26 August 2025.
The event aims to address issues such as early pregnancy, malnutrition, and limited access to health services.
According to SFH, the dialogue will provide “an important opportunity to re-examine how Nigeria supports adolescents and young women, many of whom are vulnerable to poor health outcomes.”
Figures show that over 15 per cent of Nigerian girls aged 15–19 are mothers or pregnant. “Tackling adolescent malnutrition is critical in a context where too many girls are forced into early motherhood,” the group said.
The initiative underscores a shared commitment to empowering young Nigerians with the knowledge, services, and support needed to thrive.
