The Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has entered into a landmark partnership with the Health Business Academy for Africa (HBA), reaffirming its commitment to strengthening healthcare business excellence and capacity in Nigeria.
The agreement, signed at the HFN Executive Office in Ikoyi, Lagos on Friday, makes HBA the Federation’s official training and capacity-building partner, tasked with equipping healthcare leaders, entrepreneurs, and organisations with modern tools, strategies, and systems to thrive in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
Speaking at the ceremony, HFN President, Mrs. Njide Ndili, stressed the importance of the collaboration, saying: “At HFN, we remain steadfast in our mission to strengthen healthcare delivery in Nigeria through strategic collaborations that bring measurable impact. Partnering with HBA enables us to provide our members with world-class executive training, business strategy, and operational excellence programs that will help them scale sustainably and compete globally.”
Echoing her remarks, HBA Executive Director, Mr. Wale Olajubu, described the partnership as transformative, noting: “Together, we will drive the kind of transformation that not only builds capacity but also positions Nigerian healthcare enterprises as leaders on the African and global stage.”
HFN First Vice-President, Dr. Ayodele Benson-Cole, highlighted that the partnership would address the long-standing gap between clinical service delivery and business management in Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
“Healthcare sustainability in Nigeria depends on leaders who understand both medicine and management. This partnership will bridge that gap, ensuring our members can grow stronger businesses while delivering better care,” he said.
Newly appointed HFN Executive Secretary, Mr. Olufemi Akingbade, added that the initiative will be backed by concrete programmes and measurable follow-through, including executive training, policy advocacy, membership growth, and the establishment of an HBA Mini-Campus within HFN’s Ikoyi office to serve as a hub for healthcare learning and collaboration.
