Kano Redeploys 2 DGs in Major Health Sector Restructuring

The Kano State Government has approved the immediate redeployment of two Directors General as part of efforts to reposition the state’s health sector.

According to an official statement issued on Wednesday, Director General of the Private Health Institutions Management Agency, Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, has been transferred to head the State Primary Health Care Management Board.

In a corresponding move, Director General of the State Primary Health Care Management Board, Dr. Nasir Mahmoud, has been reassigned to lead the Private Health Institutions Management Agency.

The transfers, which take effect immediately, were approved by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The government noted that the shake-up is aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery and urged the newly redeployed officials to “hit the ground running.”

“These transfers are a testament to the government’s commitment to enhancing the healthcare system and improving the well-being of Kano citizens,” the statement added.
