Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on stakeholders to deepen their commitment to quality service delivery to achieve resilient health outcomes.
Speaking at the 2025 Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards (NHEA) in Lagos, represented by Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, Sanwo-Olu said: “The achievements celebrated tonight, whether in quality improvement, health financing, or service delivery, reflect the resilience and commitment of healthcare professionals.”
Often described as the ‘Oscars of Nigerian Healthcare’, this year’s NHEA, supported by PharmAccess Foundation, DCL Laboratory Products, and other partners, honoured outstanding institutions and individuals.
“We are proud of our continued partnership with NHEA in spotlighting healthcare providers who prioritise quality,” said PharmAccess Foundation’s Country Director, Njide Ndili, emphasising that the SafeCare Quality Programme helps facilities drive continuous improvement despite resource constraints.
The event recognised 100 nominees across 29 categories, attracting thousands of online votes.
Orile Agege General Hospital won the ‘Most Active Public Facility on the SafeCare Quality Platform’, while South Shore Women and Children’s Hospital clinched the highest SafeCare Quality Score.
Project Director Dr. Wale Alabi said: “This year, we honour leaders and institutions shaping real outcomes, expanding access, driving innovation, and transforming healthcare delivery in Nigeria.”
