A high-powered Federal Government delegation on Monday arrived in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, ahead of the funeral of elder statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who died on Saturday in Abu Dhabi at the age of 94.
Led by the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, the delegation includes the Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN); Minister of Information, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and Minister of State for Housing, Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.
Prominent clerics such as Dr Bashir Aliyu Umar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, and Khalifa Abdullahi Muhammad, imam of Dantata Mosque, Abuja, also joined the delegation.
“We are here to honour a national icon who devoted his life to philanthropy and service,” said Idris.
Officials of Nigeria’s consulate in Jeddah, led by Ambassador Muazzam Ibrahim Nayaya, are coordinating the funeral rites scheduled for later Monday in the Islamic holy city.
