NEMA Delivers Relief Materials to Attack Victims in Ebonyi Community

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed relief items to households affected by an attack by unknown gunmen in Nkalaha community, Ishielu/Ezza North Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State.

According to a statement released by NEMA on their X (formerly known as Twitter) account on Wednesday, the distribution was carried out by NEMA’s Enugu Operations Office in collaboration with the Ebonyi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) following a joint damage assessment earlier this year. The attack reportedly claimed lives, destroyed property and farmlands in the area.

Flagging off the exercise on Tuesday, NEMA Enugu Operations Head, Mrs. Ngozi Echeazu, represented by Mrs. Shantel Chukwu, conveyed the Federal Government’s sympathy to the victims. She noted that while the relief items could not replace lost lives and properties, they were intended to alleviate immediate suffering.

In his remarks, Chief Joseph Nwobasi, representing the constituency, commended the Federal Government and NEMA for the prompt intervention, pledging transparent and fair distribution of the materials.

Community leaders and beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the relief support and urged sustained efforts towards peace and security in the region.
