Troops of the Mobile Strike Team under Operation Fasan Yamma have killed several notorious terrorists in a decisive offensive around Ƙunchin Kalgo town in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
A statement on Thursday signed by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, said the June 10 operation led to the killing of a feared terrorist leader, Auta, and his associates, Abdul Jamilu and Salisu, all linked to repeated violence in the region.
“These terrorists were responsible for numerous attacks that had terrorised communities. Their elimination is a major blow to criminal networks destabilising the area,” Kangye said.
He added that two more terrorist kingpins, including one identified as Babayé, were also neutralised, while “Sale Ado Madele, the eldest son of notorious bandit Ado Alieru, was killed in a separate incident.”
Kangye said, “Troops also eliminated ten terrorists regrouping near a filling station in Danjibga for a planned attack under Dogo Sule.”
“The Armed Forces remain resolute in our mission to safeguard lives and restore peace in Zamfara and the entire North-West region,” he vowed.
