The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has sealed off the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretariat located in Zone 5, Abuja, over a prolonged failure to pay ground rent.
The action, carried out on Monday, was confirmed by Mr. Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Adviser on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
According to Olayinka, the property’s owner, Senator Samaila Mamman Kurfi, defaulted on ground rent payments for an astonishing 28 years.
“The property, which houses the PDP secretariat in Zone 5, was sealed today due to non-payment of ground rent for 28 years by the owner, Senator Samaila Mamman Kurfi,” Olayinka stated in a public announcement.
He emphasized that the FCTA is committed to enforcing regulations and recovering all outstanding dues tied to land administration in the territory.
