JUST IN: 21, 082 UTME Candidates Absent as JAMB Releases 2025 Resit Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) resit conducted for candidates in affected centres, indicating 21,082 were absent out of 336,845 candidates scheduled.

According to a statement released by it’s spokesperson Fabian Benjamin on Friday, JAMB disclosed that, the Board noted that the resit exposed serious infractions involving some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, candidates, and tutorial centres.

It announced the blacklisting of implicated CBT centres and said those found complicit would be prosecuted. JAMB also revealed that over 3,000 candidates had been identified for involvement in advanced examination fraud, including hacking of CBT centres’ networks and AI-assisted impersonation.

The Board resolved to release results of underage candidates and those involved in “WhatsApp runs” as a one-off waiver, though their results would not qualify them for admission. Absentee candidates were offered a fresh opportunity in the upcoming mop-up examination.
