Former stakeholders of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), one of the legacy parties that merged to form the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2013, have declared their unwavering loyalty to the ruling party and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking on Thursday during a well-attended press conference, the group of former CPC majority stakeholders said they convened to set the record straight amidst growing speculation and misinformation about their status within the APC.

“We have come together today with clarity, unity, and purpose,” the stakeholders said in a joint statement. “We are here to reaffirm our commitment to the ideals that brought us together in 2013 and to send a clear message to all Nigerians that the former CPC majority stakeholders remain strong, united, and deeply loyal to the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

The stakeholders emphasized that they have neither left the APC nor wavered in their commitment to the party they helped build through “sweat, sacrifice, and patriotic commitment.”

Highlighting their historical role in the merger that led to the defeat of the then-incumbent government in 2015, the group recalled their contributions alongside other political forces such as the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), and the New PDP (nPDP).

“The spirit of sacrifice, patriotism, and commitment to Nigeria’s future that defined the 2015 political shift continues to guide our actions,” the statement read.

The group expressed strong support for the reforms being pursued under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, acknowledging the challenges but urging Nigerians to remain patient and trust the process.

“Now more than ever, we must remain steadfast, patient, and supportive. We commend the bold steps taken by President Tinubu and urge Nigerians to see beyond the present difficulties.”

To aggrieved members of the APC, the former CPC stakeholders advised internal resolution mechanisms over public confrontations. “True loyalty is tested not in times of comfort but in times of travail,” they said, appealing for unity and dialogue within party structures.

The stakeholders concluded with a reaffirmation of their loyalty to the APC and President Tinubu’s administration. “Our commitment is unshaken, our faith is renewed, and our hope for a better Nigeria under this administration remains high,” they declared.

They also extended gratitude to their supporters nationwide and recognized the contributions of former CPC legislators at all levels, describing their continued backing as a “powerful reminder of the strength and integrity that defined our journey.”

“As we move forward, we do so with renewed strength, a deep sense of responsibility, and an unshakable commitment to the APC and the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.”
