UPDATED: NIMC Charges New Rates for Services, Warns Against Unapproved Fees

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has officially announced a comprehensive price review of its services and products, marking the first major adjustment in over a decade.

Effective immediately, Nigerians will now pay the following approved fees for key NIMC services:

NIN Enrollment (First-time Registration): Free

NIN Slip Reprint: ₦1,000

NIN Data Modification (e.g., Name, Date of Birth, Address): ₦5,000 per field

NIN Card Issuance: ₦2,000

Tokenization Services for Verification: ₦1,000 per transaction

This development comes as the Commission seeks to align its pricing structure with current operational realities and industry benchmarks, while maintaining quality, affordability, and accessibility for all Nigerians.

In a statement issued Thursday, the Head of Corporate Communications, NIMC, Dr. Kayode Adegoke, warned all licensed Front-End Partners (FEPs) to comply strictly with the newly approved pricing. He emphasized that any FEP found overcharging would face severe sanctions, including the potential revocation of their license.

“The new fees are designed to ensure continued delivery of secure and reliable identity services without compromising fairness,” Dr. Adegoke stated.

The updated pricing structure is available on the Commission’s website at www.nimc.gov.ng. Members of the public are encouraged to report any FEP charging above the approved rates to the NIMC Inspectorate and Enforcement Unit via ieu@nimc.gov.ng or 08155015388.

Meanwhile, NIMC DG/CEO, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and all harmonization partners for their unwavering support in strengthening Nigeria’s identity infrastructure.
