Breaking: Scores Killed as Another Truck Crashes in Dutse, Abuja Community

Another Tragedy struck once again in the Federal Capital Territory on Monday following a fatal truck accident at the Tipper Garage Junction in Dutse, Bwari Area Council. The crash claimed multiple lives and left several others critically injured, just two days after a similar incident in the capital.

Eyewitnesses who spoke to AHR said the truck, loaded with bags of onions, allegedly suffered a brake failure. It first rammed into a Peugeot 406 sedan before veering off the road and crashing into three passenger tricycles, popularly known as kekes.

“The truck lost its brakes and just kept going. It hit the Peugeot, then ran into the kekes,” recounted Mr. Jeffery, an eyewitness. “I saw three dead bodies and two people badly injured.”

According to him, the driver of the Peugeot 406 miraculously escaped without a scratch, even though the car was completely mangled. “The vehicle is gone,” he said. “The police and Federal Road Safety officials are currently at the scene, rescuing victims, maintaining order, and managing traffic.”

Another eyewitness, a local resident who identified herself as Mummy Bella, described the incident as part of a worrying trend of road tragedies in the area.

“These accidents are happening too often,” she told African Health Reports. “In some parts of Nigeria, trailers are not allowed to operate at certain times of the day to avoid accidents like this. I’m appealing to the Nigerian government to adopt such rules here to protect lives.”

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement had been released by the authorities. Emergency responders were seen at the scene carrying out rescue operations and working to clear the wreckage as investigations continue.
