President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the brutal murder of seven hunters who were mistakenly attacked and set ablaze by a mob in Uromi, Esan North Local Government Area of Edo State.
The victims, identified as northern Hausa hunters, were intercepted by local vigilantes while traveling in a commercial truck. Upon discovering firearms in their possession, residents mistook them for kidnappers and killer herdsmen, leading to a violent attack.

“The President noted that jungle justice has no place in Nigeria, and all Nigerians have the freedom to move freely in any part of the country,” a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, read.
Tinubu also extended his condolences to the bereaved families, emphasizing that criminals would not be allowed to shed innocent blood with impunity.
The President commended Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo and Uromi community leaders for their prompt intervention in preventing further unrest.
The statement added, “President Tinubu commended the Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and community leaders in Uromi for their swift response to avert the escalation of tension.”
He assured Nigerians of his commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting citizens across the country.
