Nigeria and Germany have reiterated their dedication to bilateral defense collaboration by renewing a long-standing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Nigerian Ministry of Defence and the German Technical Advisory Group.
The agreement, established 12 years ago and renewed every four years, was signed at the headquarters of the Ministry in Abuja.
Speaking at the signing ceremony on Friday, as reported by NTA Television, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Ambassador Gabriel Tanimu Aduda, described the renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a vital counterpart funding arrangement that underscores the strong defence partnership between Nigeria and Germany.
In a similar vein, Colonel Boris Bovekemp, the German Defence Attaché to Nigeria, emphasized Germany’s dedication to their partnership by asserting, “Germany continues to firmly support Nigeria’s defense and security efforts. This Memorandum of Understanding enhances our collaboration in capacity-building and military advisory assistance.”
The updated agreement is anticipated to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing enhancements in security and the sharing of technical knowledge.
