In response to the violent crisis over a land dispute in Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun communities, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has ordered the immediate establishment of camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The governor, through his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, stated that the camps, named ‘Holden Camp,’ should be set up in the communities’ town halls or any other suitable locations of their choice.

Adeleke emphasized the urgency of relief efforts, saying, “Now that the distribution of food and relief materials has commenced, I have directed the state emergency agency to proceed to set up camps for displaced people.”

He also instructed security agencies to screen those affected before transporting them to the designated camps to ensure proper safety and coordination.

To support the displaced residents, the emergency agency will provide essential supplies while the situation stabilizes.

The governor added, “The emergency agency will be providing food materials and accessories for the displaced people while the situation normalizes. The agency has also reached out to NEMA for further support.”
