The World Health Organization WHO educates the masses on how Measles is a highly contagious disease which can lead to severe complications and even lead to death with 5 top facts.

According to a post on the organisation’s X account on Monday, the organization educates the public on how Measles is a highly contagious disease which spreads when an “infected person breathes, coughs or sneezes.”

“Can affect anyone but it is most common in children”. The statement reads. “Measles infects the respiratory tract and then spreads throughout the body. Symptoms include a high fever, cough, runny nose and a rash all over the body. ”

“Measles being vaccinated is the best way to prevent getting sick with Measles or spreading it to other people. The Vaccine is safe and helps your body fight off the virus.

“Early symptoms usually last 4-7 days they include: running nose, cough, red and watery eyes, small white spots inside the cheeks”.
