Katsina Gov Approves N123m for Youth Skill Training

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has approved N123 million for training students at the Katsina Youth Craft Village (KYCV) to equip youths with marketable skills and promote job creation.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Mohammed, on Friday, the initiative aligns with Radda’s commitment to transforming youths into job creators rather than job seekers.

“By equipping our young people with marketable skills, we are not merely taking them off the streets but transforming them into productive entrepreneurs and future employers of labour,” the statement quoted Radda as saying.

The training programs, which vary from three months to one year, will be expanded to new centres in Daura and Malumfashi as part of efforts to decentralize skill acquisition across the state.

The initiative is part of the governor’s Building Your Future agenda, aimed at fostering economic empowerment and creating sustainable pathways out of poverty.
