President Bola Tinubu has lauded the resilience, brilliance, and contributions of Nigerian women, describing them as the backbone of the nation.
According to a statement on his X account (formerly known as Twitter) on Saturday marking International Women’s Day, he acknowledged their vital roles in various sectors, from homes and farms to boardrooms and communities.
Reflecting on the progress since the Beijing Declaration three decades ago, Tinubu noted that many women still face challenges that hinder their full potential. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to breaking these barriers by expanding financial access and ensuring equal opportunities in governance, agriculture, and other key sectors.
Reiterating his Renewed Hope agenda, the President emphasized that empowering women remains a priority, recognizing their strength as a driving force for Nigeria’s future.
“To our mothers, daughters, and sisters—your strength fuels Nigeria’s future. Together, we rise!” Tinubu declared, wishing all Nigerian women a happy International Women’s Day.
