President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of six new Chief Medical Directors (CMDs) for federal hospitals across Nigeria, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery.
The appointments, which take effect from their respective dates of assumption of office, will run for four years and cover medical institutions in Ondo, Gombe, Bauchi, Nasarawa, Borno, and Kaduna States.
The newly appointed CMDs include Prof. Olusegun Sylvester Ojo, who will lead the Federal Teaching Hospital in Akure, Ondo State; Prof. Yusuf Mohammed Abdullahi, who has secured a second term as CMD of the Federal Teaching Hospital in Gombe; and Dr. Dauda Abubakar Katagum, who has been confirmed as the substantive CMD of the Federal Teaching Hospital in Azare, Bauchi State.
The other appointees are Dr. Ikrama Hassan, who will lead the newly upgraded Federal Teaching Hospital in Lafiya, Nasarawa State; Dr. Ali Mohammed Ramat, who has been appointed as the CMD of the newly established National Orthopedic Hospital in Maiduguri, Borno State; and Dr. Haruna Abubakar Shehu, who will assume the role of CMD at the Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan, Kaduna State.
President Tinubu has congratulated the appointees, urging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and service delivery.
