The resumption of plenary at the Senate on Wednesday was marked by heightened tensions as Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central took her seat, which has been the subject of a heated dispute.
Africa Health Report AHR, Reporter learnt that as Natasha arrived the chamber alongside her husband, the she shared a brief moment with him before proceeding to her designated seat.
The controversy surrounding her seating arrangement has drawn national attention, particularly after her recent allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had accused Akpabio of sexual harassment, a claim the Senate President has strongly denied. “I categorically reject these allegations; they are completely baseless,” Akpabio stated.
Despite the controversy, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan appeared undeterred. “I am here to fulfill my duty to the people of Kogi Central, no matter the obstacles,” she asserted as she settled into her seat.
