TCN Reports Nigeria’s Power Generation Reaches 5,713.60MW as Unstable Supply Persists

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a new peak power generation of 5,713.60 megawatts, recorded on Sunday at 9:30 p.m.

In a statement on its X handle on Tuesday, TCN said this milestone surpasses the 5,543.20MW peak achieved on February 14 by 170.40MW.

“Although this new peak is lower than the all-time maximum of 5,801.60MW recorded on March 1, 2021, by 88MW, it remains a notable achievement,” TCN stated.

The company also highlighted another breakthrough in power supply, reporting the highest-ever daily energy transmission in Nigeria’s history.

“A new record for maximum daily energy was set on Monday, with a total of 125,542.06 megawatt-hours (MWh), surpassing the 125,159.48MWh recorded on February 14 by 382.58MWh,” TCN added.
