Hussaini Kafi in Kano
Son of Nigeria’s President, Seyi Tinubu, on Monday evening joined Kano residents and political leaders in breaking the third-day Ramadan fast, launching a feeding programme for the less privileged.
The event, held at Al-Furqan Mosque in the Kano metropolis, was part of the Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE) initiative, a project aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, including persons living with disabilities.
Speaking at the launch, Seyi Tinubu emphasized the importance of community service and social welfare, particularly during Ramadan.
He reiterated his commitment to initiatives that uplift the less privileged and foster national unity, aligning with the broader Renewed Hope Agenda championed by the Tinubu administration.
Before the Iftar, he paid a courtesy visit to business magnate Aminu Dantata, where they discussed social and developmental issues. He also met with Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in what many observers see as a significant political move, given the state’s political landscape.
The Iftar gathering, held at the Amani Event Centre, brought together members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), showcasing rare political unity.
Among the notable attendees were NNPP’s state chairman, Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, as well as key political figures from both parties.
Also present were the sons of the APC National Chairman and the Kano State Governor, alongside government appointees, grassroots mobilizers, and politicians, underscoring the event’s significance beyond party lines.
As Ramadan progresses, the feeding programme is expected to provide essential meals to thousands of fasting individuals, particularly those in need, reinforcing the bond between leaders and the people while strengthening Seyi Tinubu’s growing influence in humanitarian and political circles.
