…Dismiss Kidnap Report
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has denied allegations that a former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, was abducted and murdered by attackers in Abuja.
The police stated that, contrary to reports circulating online, he was discovered deceased in a hotel room following a visit with a female guest.
In a statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, on Tuesday, the command dismissed speculation surrounding the death of the former CG, emphasizing that their investigation suggests no signs of abduction or foul play.
Adeh reported that Mr. Parradang arrived at Joy House Hotel, located at Area 3 Junction in Abuja, around 12:00 PM on March 3, 2025, driving a black Mercedes Benz. He checked into the hotel and paid N22,000 for a one-night accommodation.
She also disclosed that a hotel employee took a female guest to his room soon after he arrived. “The woman left the hotel around 4:00 PM, and after that, Mr. Parradang was not spotted leaving his room again,” she noted.
The next morning, at approximately 4:00 AM on March 4, 2025, a worried military officer, who was reportedly a close friend of the deceased, went to the hotel after failing to contact him. Upon inspecting his room with the hotel receptionist, they found Mr. Parradang unresponsive while seated in a chair.
Adeh confirmed that the Durumi Police Station was alerted right away. Officers quickly arrived at the location, secured the scene, collected evidence, and made sure the body was delivered to the National Hospital for additional procedures.
The police confirmed that hotel staff are cooperating with the ongoing investigations. In the meantime, as they await the results of a medical examination, authorities have advised the public to ignore unverified claims regarding a kidnapping or murder.
Adeh urged the public and the media to avoid disseminating false information and to give law enforcement the space to carry out their investigation.
