President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian Muslims and the global Islamic community as the 2025 Ramadan fasting season begins.

In a statement released on Friday the President expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the grace to witness the sacred month, emphasizing its significance as a time of deep reflection, devotion, and acts of compassion.

He described Ramadan as a period for spiritual rejuvenation, self-discipline, and empathy for the less fortunate.

He urged Muslims observing the fast to embrace the core lessons of piety, humility, and selflessness, strengthening their connection with Allah and fostering unity and peace in their communities.

The President also highlighted the current state of the nation, noting that his administration’s policies were beginning to yield positive results.

He pointed to economic improvements, including a rise in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the last quarter of 2024 compared to the previous year.

He added that food prices were stabilizing, the exchange rate was improving, and fuel prices were declining—developments that he said were bringing relief to Nigerians.

“As the wet season approaches, we remain steadfast in boosting agricultural productivity. We are determined to enhance food production and ensure self-sufficiency and food security for all Nigerians through targeted input support, mechanization, and innovative farming initiatives,” President Tinubu stated.

He called on Nigerians to use the sacred month as an opportunity for prayer and collective action toward national development.

He urged citizens to seek divine guidance and protection for the country while upholding values that promote peace, unity, and progress.

Extending his best wishes to all Muslims observing Ramadan, the President prayed for a month filled with joy, peace, and spiritual renewal, expressing hope that the nation would emerge stronger from the season.

“Ramadan Kareem!” the statement concluded.
