NEMA/NYSC EMVs Sensitize Sokoto Residents on Waste Management

The NEMA/NYSC Emergency Management Vanguards (EMVs) in Sokoto State carried out a sensitization campaign at the State Central Market to educate residents on the dangers of improper waste disposal.

According to a statement released by NEMA on their X (formerly known as Twitter) account on Saturday, Corps members delivered the awareness messages in both English and Hausa to ensure effective communication with the public. They explained the different categories of waste and demonstrated proper disposal methods to promote a cleaner environment.

As part of the campaign, the EMVs performed a playlet highlighting key waste management practices. The dramatization served as a practical illustration of the consequences of indiscriminate waste dumping.

Officials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Sokoto State officials were present to guide and support the volunteers throughout the exercise.

The campaign aimed to encourage residents to adopt responsible waste disposal habits for a healthier and more sustainable environment.
