Lagos Residents Sensitised on Dangers of Tuberculosis

Residents of Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area have been educated on the dangers of tuberculosis through a programme jointly organised by the council and TB Champion and Ambassador.

Wife of the council Chairman, Mrs Iyabo Ashafa emphasized the LCDA’s commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of its citizens. She praised the medical and health department’s efforts in spearheading initiatives to eliminate TB, stating that the awareness programme would go a long way in eradicating the disease.

According to Mrs Ashafa, the event marked a significant milestone in the ongoing battle against Tuberculosis. She highlighted the importance of early detection, treatment, and prevention strategies in combating the infectious disease effectively.

The TB Champion and Ambassador also reiterated the significance of collective action in tackling TB, enjoining stakeholders to join hands in the fight against the global health threat.

Supervisor for Health, Taiwo Bisiriyu, representing Chairman Prince Musibau A. Ashafa, noted that the awareness programme demonstrated the power of collaboration, advocacy, and compassion in combating infectious diseases.

“Through sustained efforts and unwavering dedication, the community stands united in its resolve to create a healthier and TB-free environment for all,” Bisiriyu said.
