To get the institute off the ground, Halilu requested basic facilities, including land for a permanent site and a temporary site, to fast-track the institute’s launch.
Ekiti State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Ebenezer Boluwade, expressed his delight at the development, noting that the state has received several interventions from the Federal Government in recent weeks.
Boluwade attributed this to the state government’s diligent resourcefulness and commitment to shared prosperity. He also thanked the Federal government under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, saying the interventions reflect the President’s concern for the state’s development and prioritization of agricultural development.
This development is part of a series of initiatives by the Federal Government to boost agriculture in Ekiti State. Recently, the state was nominated as the pilot state for Agriculture in the South West, and the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) selected Ekiti State for an Agricultural Skills Programme.
The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security further cited the first Soil assessment laboratory equipment in the southwest of Ekiti State to provide easy access to soil testing for farmers.
