EFCC Urges Students to Shun Corruption, Embrace Integrity

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) urges students to embrace integrity and reject corruption as vital components of national development.

Executive Chairman, EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede said this on Thursday in Abuja while playing host to students from Gabs Glorious Kids Academy, saying, “Corruption has eroded our nation, leaving us without essential social amenities such as good roads, stable electricity, and quality education. We must collectively reject corruption and embrace integrity.”

Represented by the Head of Media and Publicity, Deputy Commander of the EFCC, DCE Dele Oyewale, Olukoyede warned the students against the uncertainty that accompanies dishonest practices, adding, “People who choose corruption live by chance; they could end up in jail or face tragic consequences.”

The EFCC’s boss further encouraged the students to be responsible leaders when entrusted with public office in the future, stressing the need for exemplary leadership to change the country’s narrative and restore its lost glory.

Earlier, the Head of the Public Interface Unit of the Commission, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE I Tony Orilade, discussed the positive use of social media, pointing out its potential for growth rather than fraud. “Use it decently to avoid getting into trouble with the law,”he warned.

The Principal of Gabs Glorious Kids Academy, Mr. Philip Ayeni, praised the EFCC’s engaging lectures, committing to instil anti-corruption values in students. “We are proud to be associated with the EFCC and its commitment to ridding Nigeria of corruption,”he affirmed, as students left with a renewed sense of purpose to champion integrity in their lives.
