Members of the Maryland Golden Lions Club, Lagos British Lions Club, and Indiana Lions Club, all under Zone C6, District 404B2 Lions Club International, on Valentine’s Day held a service program titled “Gift of Learning in Celebration of Valentine’s Day” at Bola Memorial Primary School in Ikeja, Lagos.
The event began with a pediatric cancer awareness talk delivered by Dr. Olatubosun Salami of the Lagos State University. The pupils of the school were presented with school bags, exercise books, pencils, biros, mathematical sets, and confectionery.
District Governor 404B2, Lion Tolulope Senbanjo, stated that the event aimed to share love amongst the pupils and teachers. He emphasized the importance of the pediatric cancer lecture in enlightening the children on cancer-causing habits, early detection, and more.
Lion Adedeji Olukokun, chairperson of Zone C6, highlighted the significance of the pediatric cancer program in promoting early detection and saving lives.
The principal of the school, Mrs. Cecelia Sipeolu, expressed gratitude for the club’s longstanding relationship with the school and solicited their support in enhancing the health and welfare of pupils and staff.
“This event demonstrated the Lions Clubs International’s commitment to serving the community and promoting education and health awareness”, Sipeolu concluded.
