Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia reportedly vanished shortly after revealing his upcoming divorce from actress Annie Macaulay. Concerned about his unexpected absence, his family has submitted a petition to the Department of State Services (DSS).
As stated in the petition submitted by Wilson Anuge, the singer went out for a routine walk on February 10, 2025, but did not come back. The petition noted, “Despite the diligent attempts of his family, staff, and management to get in touch, they have been unable to make contact or determine his location.”
In a video circulating on social media, the singer’s mother, Rose Idibia, has claimed that Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker from Edo State with whom 2Baba was recently rumoured to be in a romantic relationship, might have put a spell on him. Just a few days prior, a viral video showed 2Baba giving a ring to Osawaru, but she did not explicitly accept or decline his proposal.
The family voiced additional worries regarding suspicious messages that have reportedly been sent from the singer’s social media accounts, supposedly asking for financial help. The petition stated, “These messages are troubling, as Mr. Innocent is financially independent and has never needed assistance in this way.”
Amid increasing concerns about his location, the Idibia family fears that something sinister may be at play, implying that he could have been kidnapped or influenced. “The seriousness of this situation is alarming, and the chance of coercion should not be ignored,” the family urged in their call for immediate government action.
