UniJos Admits 67 Foreign Students for 2024/2025

The University of Jos (UNIJOS) has announced the enrollment of 67 foreign students from 13 African countries for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The newly admitted students represent nations including Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Niger Republic, Cameroon, South Sudan, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Togo, and Zimbabwe.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Senior Deputy Registrar, Information and Publications, Abdullahi Abdullahi, these international students will pursue various undergraduate programs, including medicine and surgery, economics, international studies, and computer science, among others.

UNIJOS Vice-Chancellor, Tanko Ishaya highlighted the administration’s commitment to reinstating the student exchange program. “Admitting foreign students into the university is not only the result of joint efforts of the university and other stakeholders but also a far-reaching achievement for the university leadership,” the VC said.

“The foreign students underwent the regular admission process like other students, which included sitting for the joint admissions and matriculation board (JAMB) examinations, alongside other necessary procedures.”

Dean of Students Affairs, Chris Piwuna expressed excitement about the new arrivals, encouraging them to embrace the university’s rules. “Conduct yourselves with integrity,” Piwuna urged, “As you embark on this enriching academic journey.”
