Tinubu Orders Security Agencies to Strengthen Joint Operations against Evolving Threats

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Armed Forces, security, and intelligence agencies to enhance coordination and adopt a whole-of-society approach to tackling Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.

According to a statement sent to Africa Health Report (AHR) on Thursday by the director of Information and Public Relations Henshaw Ogubike, Speaking at the opening session of the Chief of Defence Staff Joint Task Force Commanders Conference in Abuja, the President, represented by the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, emphasized that national security requires seamless collaboration.

He commended the Armed Forces for their dedication and sacrifice, noting that the conference theme, “Enhancing Jointness across all Theatres of Operations,” aligns with his administration’s security vision.

“This forum is expedient and timely, especially as the security landscape is dynamic and constantly evolving. Such a landscape undoubtedly requires us to harmonize our efforts and evolve proactive and innovative measures that can decisively address security threats,” he stated. Tinubu urged security agencies to integrate emerging technologies, strengthen inter-agency cooperation, and continuously re-evaluate strategies to improve operational efficiency.

“I therefore urge you to holistically explore, in detail, the concept of jointness, while harnessing the power of emerging technologies and innovation. I further implore you to continue to work together to ensure multi-agency synergy on all fronts, as this will enable the Armed Forces of Nigeria to remain an agile, adaptable, and lethal force performing at its highest potential,” he emphasized.

The President expressed gratitude to the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, and all security personnel for their commitment to national defense. He assured them of his administration’s full support and wished the participants fruitful deliberations, confident that the conference’s outcomes will strengthen Nigeria’s security framework.
