Bandits Attack Kankara General Hospital, Shoot Doctor, Abduct 5

In a shocking attack on Tuesday night, armed bandits stormed Kankara General Hospital in Katsina State, leaving devastation in their wake. The assailants shot a prominent doctor, Dr. Murtala Sale Dandashire, in the thigh and abducted five individuals, including patients and hospital staff.

Dr. Dandashire, a distinguished alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and the best graduating medical student in 2019, was providing critical medical services when the attack occurred. His injury has left the medical community in anguish, while his colleagues and patients are deeply shaken by the incident.

This attack is the third of its kind in Katsina State within three months. Earlier, bandits targeted the Kurfi General Hospital and the Mai Tsani Hospital in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area, underscoring a worrying trend of insecurity in the healthcare sector.
