Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has dismissed five commissioners from his cabinet in a strategic reshuffle aimed at revitalizing governance and enhancing service delivery across the state.
The announcement was made on Tuesday (today) through a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
The statement emphasized that the reshuffle reflects Governor Mohammed’s determination to inject new ideas and energy into governance to address emerging challenges effectively.
“In that respect, five commissioners were dropped. This move reflects the administration’s commitment to injecting new ideas and energy into governance, in line with the governor’s vision of strengthening the machinery of government and addressing emerging challenges effectively,” the statement read.
The affected commissioners are Jamila Dahiru (Education), Abdulhameed Bununu (Internal Security and Home Affairs), Usman Danturaki (Information and Communication), Madugu Yalams (Agriculture), and Yakubu Ibrahim (Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation). Governor Mohammed expressed gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication and contributions to the development of the state, noting their instrumental roles in advancing key initiatives and policies.
In line with the reshuffle, the governor has nominated eight individuals to fill the vacant positions and has forwarded their names to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The nominees are Babayo Tilde (Toro LGA), Abdullahi Mohammed (Misau LGA), Bala Lukshi (Dass LGA), Usman Shehu (Shira LGA), Iliyasu Gital (Tafawa Balewa LGA), Titus Ketkukah (Tafawa Balewa LGA), Babayo Gabarin (Darazo LGA), and Lawal Rimin Zayam (Toro LGA).
Governor Mohammed reiterated his administration’s commitment to responsive governance, ensuring impactful development, and improving the welfare of Bauchi residents.
“This reshuffle is part of our commitment to fulfilling the mandate of this administration and ensuring that governance remains responsive to the needs of the people,” the statement concluded.
The move is expected to bolster the administration’s ability to deliver on its promises and tackle emerging challenges facing the state.
