Hussaini Ibrahim Kafi in Kano
Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State warmly welcomed the first batch of students who had been sent to India to further their studies.
The students arrived at Aminu Kano International Airport at around 1:00 pm on Sunday (today) and were greeted by the Governor, alongside his Deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, who also serves as the state Commissioner for Higher Education.
In 2023, the Kano State Government embarked on a scholarship program, sending 550 students to universities in India and Uganda out of a pool of 1,250 applicants.
The initiative aimed to provide access to quality education for aspiring students in the state.
