NBS Website Hacked – Report

The official website of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has been compromised by hackers.

This was disclosed by the Bureau in a post on its X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday night.

It, however, said efforts were ongoing to recover the website, warning Nigerians to disregard any message or report posted on the website until it was fully recovered.

NBS wrote: “This is to inform the public that the NBS Website has been hacked, and we are working to recover it. Please disregard any message or report posted until the website is fully restored.”

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) is Nigeria’s principal statistics agency, responsible for collecting, analysing and disseminating data on the country’s economy, population and socio-economic activities.

The NBS however, gave assistance that efforts were ongoing to recover the website, warning Nigerians to disregard any message or report posted on the website until it was fully recovered.

The NBS, Nigeria’s principal statistics agency, is responsible for collecting, analysing and disseminating data on the country’s economy, population and socio-economic activities.

The Bureau’s key functions include conducting national censuses and surveys, collecting and analyzing economic and social data, publishing statistical reports, and providing data for policy-making and decision-taking.
