Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the establishment of a new Ministry of Livestock Development.
This strategic move aims to bolster the state’s agricultural sector and enhance livestock production.
A statement from the Governor’s office revealed that the Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service, and Commissioner for Agriculture have been tasked with defining the ministry’s mandate, securing suitable office space, and deploying necessary staff to ensure its smooth operation.
By creating this dedicated ministry, Yobe State joins Borno State as one of the few states in Nigeria to prioritize livestock development with a standalone ministry.
This signifies a significant commitment to the sector and its potential to drive economic growth and food security.
