Tinubu Appoints New Heads for NWDC, SEDC

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated new members to head the North West Development Commission (NWDC) and the South East Development Commission (SEDC).

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga on Friday, President Tinubu has nominated Alh Lawal Samai’la Abdullahi as the new chairman of the NWDC.

Other nominees to the NWDC board include Ja’afar Abubakar Sadeeq and Yahaya Aminu Abdulhadi, while Professor Abdullahi Shehu Ma’aji retains his position as managing director and chief executive officer.

Additional members include Chukwu Chijioke, Ahmed Mohammed, Engr. Ahmed Rufai Timasaniyu, Macdonalds Michael Uyi, Yemi Ola, and Hon. Babatunde Dada.

Similarly, Hon. Emeka Atuma has been nominated as Chairman of the SEDC, while Hon. Mark C. Okoye will serve as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.

Other members of the SEDC board include Barr. Ugochukwu H. Agballah, Hon. Okey Ezenwa, Chief Hyacinth Ikpor, Hon. Donatus Eyinnah Nwankpa, Barr. Ifeanyi Agwu Ph.D, Nasiru Usman, and Hamma Adama Ali Kumo.

Additional nominees are Edward David Onoja, Orure Kufre Inima, and Chief (Mrs.) Joke Adebayo-Chukwuma. Prince Obinna Obiekweihe, Sen. Anthony O. Agbo, and Dr. Daniel Ikechukwu Ugwuja were also nominated as Executive Directors.

President Tinubu expects the new nominees to utilize their wealth of experience and expertise to drive regional development.

 Onanuga said, “President Tinubu reiterates his commitment to regional development and expects the new nominees, as pioneers, to utilise their wealth of experience and expertise to actualize the mandates of the two commissions and develop their regions.”
