Tinubu Appoints Ribadu as Executive Secretary NUC, Announces New Leadership for NERDC, NEPAD

President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of new executives for several key agencies, including the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), the New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD), and the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI).

Among the appointments, President Tinubu has named Prof. Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu as the Executive Secretary of the NUC. Prof. Ribadu, a renowned academic in veterinary reproduction, previously served as the Vice Chancellor of both the Federal University of Technology, Yola, and Sule Lamido University, Jigawa State.

In the education sector, Prof. Salisu Shehu will now lead the NERDC as its Executive Secretary. A distinguished scholar in educational psychology, Prof. Shehu played a pivotal role in establishing the School of Continuing Education at Bayero University, Kano.

Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri, an experienced administrator with a background in international affairs, was appointed as the National Coordinator of NEPAD. Tsauri holds a Master’s in International Affairs from Ahmadu Bello University and brings extensive experience in global affairs and democratic governance.

While Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani has been appointed the Executive Secretary of SMDF/PAGMI. With a background in Banking, Computing, and Business Administration, Danfulani has held various positions, including Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State.

Tinubu in a statement signed by his adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga on Friday, expressed confidence that these appointments will strengthen the agencies’ leadership and help drive progress in their respective fields. “Their track records of service and expertise will guide these organizations towards achieving their goals,” he stated.
